WELCOME TO THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST PAUL

Grange-over-Sands
(Charity No. 1136108)

“Proclaiming the Good News of God and drawing everyone into a life-changing encounter with Jesus”

There has been a place of Christian worship here for 10 years. We come to this holy place to offer our lives to our Father God who has made His love known to us in Jesus Christ His Son. Here we bring our thanksgiving, our joys and sorrows, our hopes and fears. Here we seek His guidance and strength that we might live lives worthy of His love. We hope that you will join us and find our worship helpful and enjoyable.

St Paul’s doors (LA11 6BD) are open for regular Sunday worship at 11 am and Evening Prayer at 4 pm, and the Fell Church (LA11 6AN) has two services each month at 9.30 am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. A warm welcome awaits you!

St Paul’s is also open each day for visitors and/or private meditation. Morning and Evening Prayer is said in Church on Monday to Wednesday at 8.30am and 5.00pm respectively (variations in the time and pattern will be on the weekly sheet under WhatsOn). You are very welcome to join in these Prayers at the beginning and ending of the day.  There is a prayer corner with a ‘tree’ where prayers can be requested, and a bible and suggested reading matter are also available.  The mid-week Wednesday service at 10 am offers Holy Communion.  Refreshments are served after all services, providing an opportunity for fellowship.

The weekly pewsheet and readings are emailed out each Friday to those with access to the internet.  The May magazine is now available in printed form from Church and also on the web site under publications.

At St Paul’s we work hard to maintain a safe environment for all. We are committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance.

If you have any concerns or enquiries regarding safeguarding, please contact our safeguarding officer at St Paul’s Judith Mitchell.

Easter

Let your door stand open to receive Christ,
Unlock your soul to him,
Offer him a welcome in your mind,
And then you will see the riches of simplicity,
The treasures of peace, and the joy of grace.

Our mission is to proclaim the Good News of God and to draw others into a life-changing encounter with Jesus.

Regular services at St Paul’s include Candlemas; Mothering Sunday, Harvest Festival followed by a Parish Lunch; All Souls Service; and a Remembrance Day service for the town.

The Patronal Festival commemorating the conversion of St Paul is celebrated jointly with the Fell Church, followed by lunch.

There is a full series of services through Holy Week to Easter Day.  At Christmas, there is traditionally a Christingle and Crib Service on Christmas Eve at 6.30 pm. This year there will be no Midnight Eucharist.

St Paul’s is modern-traditional in its worship, with songs led by the choir. Our Service of the Word on the fourth Sunday offers the opportunity to explore different styles of worship.

Bless, O Lord, the work of your Church in this place.
Here may your presence be known, your name be praised,
your gospel proclaimed, your grace received.

So may your people be united in love,
bound together in fellowship,
and joyful in your service.

Through Jesus Christ Your Son our Lord.
Amen
