Parish Magazine for March 2026
The third issue in 2026 of our parish Magazine is now ready for reading.
All the usual items – vicar’s letter, news from field Broughton, Diocesan News, Churches Together and Ecochurch – but of particular interest this month are the various events on offer for us to observe this period of Lent as we move towards Easter.
We have details of all the services in Holy Week.
Special dates to note are:
- World Day of Prayer on Friday, 8th March, when we are invited to St Mary’s in Allithwaite to join in the great wave of prayer encircling the globe, as we pray with and for the country and people of Nigeria.
- Concert by the Lakes Gospel Choir on Saturday, 14th March, in aid of the Youth Trust.
- Mothering Sunday, on 15th March
Advance notice is given of a special celebratory weekend, 6-7th June, to mark the 150th anniversary of the dedication of the organ and the redesign and extension to the chancel in St Paul’s. Two photos contrast the view of the East of the church before and after the alterations. Charles Edmondson will be giving a concert given on the Saturday afternoon featuring the Gloriana Choir on the Saturday.
