Visit by Bishop James

Over 60 people gathered in St Paul’s this Monday evening to welcome Bishop James to the Cartmel Peninsula Ministry Team.  Most of the parishes in the Team were represented, and all enjoyed a pie and pea supper, followed by cheese, fruit and coffee.

Our curate, Andrew, welcomed us all and introduced the Bishop, who spoke about his life sharing with us the pivotal moments and the people who had influenced his faith journey.  There followed a time for questions when various issues were raised. It was a most enjoyable evening, with plenty of good food, fellowship and chat.

The following morning the Bishop visited two of the primary schools in the Team – Grange and Leven Valley – before leaving from Kents Bank to walk to a point on the A590 where he was ‘handed over’ to his hosts for the next lap of his walk around the Diocese.
