The Christmas Foodbank collection

In spite of terrible weather we had the best collection ever – 65 selection boxes, 12 tubs of sweets, mince pies, Christmas cakes, Christmas puddings, 20 laden trays of tinned food, etc, and £484 in cash – and that was before the donations were collected from St Anne’s at Haverthwaite.

Thank you SO much to all who donated and to all who carried and sorted.

As Carol from the Methodist Church said, “It lifts your spirits when the Grange community are so generous at this time of year”!

Radio Cumbria reported that, for the first time, the foodbank is being used this year by people who are actually in work and yet still cannot afford to feed their families.  A sobering reflection thought.
Sunday, 22nd February, will be the date of our next collection.
